Our Life in Sweden
I moved to Stockholm in the spring of 2001 and our first home was a single room apartment close to the city center , but as it cost around £500 a month we didn't stay there so very long, we moved to the outskirts for a couple of years then in the spring of 2004 we moved back to England so Malin could try English life for herself. Strangely enough she didn't like Walsall life so much, so she moved home in November, and I followed in January after helping my good friend Kieran out in one of his Pubs over Christmas . On our return we rented another one room apartment, Malin fell pregnant with Luka so we moved to a very nice, brand new 1 bedroom flat, Luka arrived and we realised we still didn't have enough room so in June 2006 we bought a 2 bedroom apartment further out on the outskirts of Stockholm in an area called Kallhäll. On the 11th March 2008 we welcomed the latest member of our family, Nova

We really enjoy living here, we are far enough outside the city to avoid all the hustle and bustle of any big city, but still only 25 minuets from Stockholm center by commuter train, and in Stockholm the public transport really works, buses and trains run on time, most of the time, even in the middle of winter with a foot of snow and minus 20c temperature!!!

And we are only 10 minuets walk away from a big nature reserve and Stockholm's largest lake, Lake Mälaren, (The fishing is great, I have had a real big pike out and many many smaller fish, check here for proof!!) There is a wonderful beach there with a café and a play park for kids. This is the view from my favourite spot..
This is the outside of our apartment block, we live on the second floor. (yes, his name IS Luka!!) There is a play park and sandpit for kids and a barbecue area for the bigger kids in the summer. We have Hares running around and there is a woodpecker nesting in the trees opposite. This all makes a refreshing change from the sights and sounds of sunny Walsall.
